Pocahontas Audition

Sunday was Caitlin's first musical audition.  It was the first attempt on our own to have a musical number prepared.  It was trial and error and a lot of tears preparing.  She had a monologue from her school play ready and perfected.  Unfortunately, they didn't even have them do a monologue yet.  Too bad, cause that's her strength right now.

She also had to learn a dance number there with a big group and perform it for the judges.  We were there for 2.5 hours!  Alaina was SO bored.

When Caitlin came out, I asked her how she did.  She just shook her head.  The lady came out with slips of paper with the results.  Caitlin didn't get one.  We just assumed that meant you didn't make it, so we started to leave.  Then someone else who didn't get one asked about it and the lady said that if you didn't get one to wait.  Thank goodness someone else asked and we heard that.  The lady went back in to the judges/director and came back with Caitlin's slip.  She took a deep breath and opened it.  She got a callback!  We go back Thursday evening for her to do this all over again.

The good thing is she started singing lessons last night.  So her voice teacher taught her how to properly warm up and then gave her lots of help with her audition piece.  We will see how it goes tomorrow!
