Last Monday was a holiday but Rusty and I both had to work. So Stephanie agreed to keep my girls. They had so much fun with her and loved it. Alaina even layed down to take a nap, after talking Steph into watching her phone. Later she found a ton of selfies that Alaina had taken with her phone. These are just a few of them . . .

Hipsters
Caitlin has really been wanting hipster glasses lately. So Saturday, we went to Claires and found some on clearance. We even found some for Alaina. Too bad they didn't even last 24 hours before she broke them. :(

New Beginnings - Value Mall
Last night we had such a cute activity with the young women. It was New Beginnings night, where we welcome in the girls that will be turning 12 this year.
Mary found this great idea on another blog. We set up a Value "Mall". Each mall store represented one of the Young Women's values.
My value was Individual Worth and my store was H&M (Holy & Modest). I talked about how important it was to be modest in our clothing, actions and thoughts.
I also shared ways to make the stylish clothes (that may not be modest) more appropriate.
These were my handouts - Pop Rocks.
Here were the other tables -
Journeys (Faith)
Jared (Virtue)
Academy Sports (Integrity)
Hallmark (Good Works)
CVA (Choice & Accountability)
Bath & Body Works (Divine Nature)
Barnes & Noble (Knowledge)
And our great young women!

Alaina's new room
We finally made Alaina's room into a real big girl room. She has gotten better about destroying things so we actually bought her some furniture. (It's cheap stuff from Walmart just in case she damages it, but she loves it.)
I made a name banner to hang above her bed.
And a flower banner and some pinboards
to put some pictures on.
She loves it!

Necklace Organizer
I bought this hanger to put in the hallway to hold backpacks and coats. Rusty went to hang it and realized that the holes to screw it in aren't the same width as the studs, so there was no way it was going to hold heavy backpacks. Who designed that thing??
Well, I couldn't find the receipt and I know I had paid cash so Target was NOT going to take it back. (Really, I hate their return policy. They do NOT make it easy on people who cannot keep up with receipts!!)
So it was just laying around the house and I had an idea. Why not hang my necklaces on it? My jewelry armoire is inside my closet (so the girls don't play with my jewelry) and it's dark and crowded in there as it is. This way, I can see all my options and end up using my jewelry more. And since it's not that heavy, I just hung it with command strips.
Fun with friends
Alaina just loves going to Shauna's and playing with Clara and Zoe!
She gets her nails done,
Plays with new toys,
gets to see Mickey,
And slide.

Discovery Center with Dad
This Saturday we all went to Discovery Center. The girls loved showing daddy all their favorite things to do.
Alaina wrote the A and the L all by herself.

Duck Dynasty
Mom & Dad went to LA Tech back in the day. I used to love looking at their old yearbooks. Little did we know there were future famous people hiding in them.
Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson
Si Robertson
And Terry Bradshaw
