Big Change

Life is SO busy! Posting for the girls on this blog has become harder and harder to keep up with. I do it so family can see what's going on with them and so I can maintain their yearly scrapbooks. I have found an easier way, I think. It will be a lot less work for me, so this blog may not be used much anymore. I have created private Instagram accounts for each one. I can post quickly from my phone to their scrapbook accounts and then print a book on each of their birthdays. So to follow them from now on, search for their accounts and follow us on Instagram:

Meets

Alaina has decided that she really enjoys the meets and wants to do all of them. She loves when people come so here are the dates if anyone wants to come:

She loves games!

Playing games with my best game opponent. She beat me at rummikub but I killed her three straight games of sequence.

2nd Gymnastics Meet - Level 2

This was her 2nd meet but her first one as an 8 year old. So she was one of the youngest in her group. She got 4th in vault, bar and beam, 6th in floor and 5th overall. She went first in her group and that's not the best. So far she's been last and first in her group. Hopefully next time, she will get to be in the middle.

 

She got her highest score today on beam, traditionally not her favorite event.

Breakfast in Bed

Alaina consistently looks back at her and Caitlin's old scrapbooks. She noticed that Caitlin got to have breakfast in bed on her 8th birthday. We agreed that she would get to that too, but then December was SO busy, we both completely forgot. So we decided to do it today. I made her French toast and bacon and then added a yummy muffin from Walmart bakery. Then later in the day, we went to get our nails done (a Christmas gift from dad). She had a great day!

Practicing Beam

Alaina never liked beam at gymnastics so we got her a practice one for Christmas. She’s loving it now!

She made it!

Caitlin had 2 months of 3x a week conditioning for track. This served as her "tryout" so the coaches could see how everyone handled the workouts and how their attitudes were. Caitlin enjoyed it and was really hoping to make the team. She was so excited when results were posted and she made it!!

Snow Day

We had fun when we finally got some snow.  We met the Meikles at the middle school and the girls got to play and sled while all the adults sat in the van and stayed warm. :)
