Disney would have loved it!
Caitlin received a wonderful birthday present in the mail yesterday. Thanks Lisa and Bryan! One of the items was a Cinderella music box. Caitlin just stared and stared at Cinderella moving around in circles to the music. I said, "Caitlin, that is a music box. Do you know why it's called a music box?" She said dreamily, "Because it makes all your dreams come true." She is definitely a Disney girl!!

Phone Situation
Our phone line has been messed up for a while now so we just decided to cancel it. We lived without it for about a month and haven't seemed to miss anything. So if you need to get hold of us, you can call me at 496-7758 or Rusty at 496-7703. We may not always be able to answer if we are at work, but just leave us a message and we will call you back. :)

What is that sound?
So this morning, we were getting ready and Rusty heard a noise. Then I heard it too. I knew it was coming from outside, so I opened the blinds and look what was staring back at us! Caitlin loved getting to see a squirrel up close and personal. I can't say the same for the squirrel. It had climbed up the screen and then got stuck and couldn't figure out how to get down. Rusty went to open the window to try and help him and the squirrel freaked and jumped to the brick. Not sure how he held on the brick, but he did. We finally decided to leave him alone since we were just making him more scared. Finally, he was able to get down on his own. I don't think he will be visiting again!

Attack of the Fire Ant
Friday night we were over at the Meikles house and Caitlin and Allison were playing outside. Caitlin and I were driving home and were almost there when Caitlin said something stung her. Then 5 seconds later, something stung again. And then she just started screaming and yelling, "Something's biting me!!!" I pulled the car over and slammed on the brakes. Jumped into the back seat with her. Pulled her out of her car seat and pulled her shirt up. There was a fire ant in her shirt. It was in her belly button and had bitten her 4 or 5 times. She was completely traumatized. Even after the ant was off of her, the bites were burning. So I put her in the tub to try to sooth her. Thank goodness I did, since it washed a tick off of her. No more playing outside for a while!!

Swim Lessons
Well, the first week of swim lessons is complete. Overall, Caitlin has done well. Only one melt down. She is afraid of going under the water and the teacher wanted her to jump in to her without a float on. Caitlin knew what was going to happen and rebelled. She just doesn't like the water in her eyes. So I'm going to find some goggles her size and see if that makes it better. One more week of Monday through Thursday lessons to go!!

Caitlin's First Picnic

She says the funniest things . . .
Over the weekend, we were driving to some friends' house and Caitlin was saying something silly. Rusty told her, "Caitlin, you think you are so funny. You're such a jokester." Caitlin says (with the correct inflection in her voice), "Everyone's a critic." I don't think she knew what she said, but it was hilarious!!!

Caitlin's First Solo
The primary at church started letting the kids share their talents once a month. Caitlin was picked to be the first one. We practiced a lot so she would be ready, but I really didn't know if she would follow through. She was fearless!! I think everyone was shocked that she would do it. Everyone clapped for her after she was done. Not too bad for a 3-year-old!

Purple Petunias
Last night, I decided that Caitlin and I would plant some flowers. She loves picking flowers and going on flower hunts. So I decided that she would probably enjoy planting some and watching them grow. I took her to Lowes and let her pick some out. She picked purple petunias. These were perfect because she always talks about petunias for some reason and she loves purple. So I got her her own garden tools and we got to work. It was a lot of fun!

Not Quite Understanding St. Patrick's Day
This morning I told Caitlin she needed to wear green because it was St. Patrick's Day. She said, "Why is it Patrick's day?" I just told her that we wear green on St. Patrick's Day. Later she told me, "When it's Uniqua day, can I wear pink? And on Pablo day, I can wear blue." These are Backyardigan characters that are pink and blue. I guess she thought Patrick's Day was for Patrick on Spongebob.

Horton Hears a Who

Caitlin went to her first movie. She LOVES elephants and has about 7 stuffed ones now. So we thought Horton Hears a Who would be a good first movie to see in the theater. She loved it!! We got popcorn and drinks and she took her Horton elephant with her. It was a cute movie that I'm sure we will get when it comes out on DVD.

Cutest Flower Girl in the World!!
Caitlin was the flower girl in a wedding that Rusty and I shot. She absolutely LOVED it!! It was very hard being the photographers while she was in it but it was so fun at the same time!! We got her hair done so I didn't have to stress about it (thanks Lila!!) and we thought she looked adorable.

Caitlin liked how the guys got to wear their flowers, so she thought she could do the same thing.

She did pretty good during the wedding. She walked Cooper down the aisle and then struggled with being still. She sat on the steps, looked bored, lost her slipper, tried to put it back on by lifting her leg and flashed all the people. I guess it could have been worse!

At the reception, she TORE up the dance floor. This child can MOVE!! She didn't want to sit down. This was her doing the robot!
