She says the funniest things . . .
Over the weekend, we were driving to some friends' house and Caitlin was saying something silly. Rusty told her, "Caitlin, you think you are so funny. You're such a jokester." Caitlin says (with the correct inflection in her voice), "Everyone's a critic." I don't think she knew what she said, but it was hilarious!!!

Caitlin's First Solo
The primary at church started letting the kids share their talents once a month. Caitlin was picked to be the first one. We practiced a lot so she would be ready, but I really didn't know if she would follow through. She was fearless!! I think everyone was shocked that she would do it. Everyone clapped for her after she was done. Not too bad for a 3-year-old!

Purple Petunias
Last night, I decided that Caitlin and I would plant some flowers. She loves picking flowers and going on flower hunts. So I decided that she would probably enjoy planting some and watching them grow. I took her to Lowes and let her pick some out. She picked purple petunias. These were perfect because she always talks about petunias for some reason and she loves purple. So I got her her own garden tools and we got to work. It was a lot of fun!

Not Quite Understanding St. Patrick's Day
This morning I told Caitlin she needed to wear green because it was St. Patrick's Day. She said, "Why is it Patrick's day?" I just told her that we wear green on St. Patrick's Day. Later she told me, "When it's Uniqua day, can I wear pink? And on Pablo day, I can wear blue." These are Backyardigan characters that are pink and blue. I guess she thought Patrick's Day was for Patrick on Spongebob.

Horton Hears a Who

Caitlin went to her first movie. She LOVES elephants and has about 7 stuffed ones now. So we thought Horton Hears a Who would be a good first movie to see in the theater. She loved it!! We got popcorn and drinks and she took her Horton elephant with her. It was a cute movie that I'm sure we will get when it comes out on DVD.

Cutest Flower Girl in the World!!
Caitlin was the flower girl in a wedding that Rusty and I shot. She absolutely LOVED it!! It was very hard being the photographers while she was in it but it was so fun at the same time!! We got her hair done so I didn't have to stress about it (thanks Lila!!) and we thought she looked adorable.

Caitlin liked how the guys got to wear their flowers, so she thought she could do the same thing.

She did pretty good during the wedding. She walked Cooper down the aisle and then struggled with being still. She sat on the steps, looked bored, lost her slipper, tried to put it back on by lifting her leg and flashed all the people. I guess it could have been worse!

At the reception, she TORE up the dance floor. This child can MOVE!! She didn't want to sit down. This was her doing the robot!

Deep Thoughts by Caitlin
"Sometimes dogs talk when they are talking dogs."
Response to me saying dogs don't talk
Caitlin's checkup
Caitlin recently had a checkup. She is 40 inches high, 78th percentile, and is 31.5 pounds, 32nd percentile. The doctor said that she can't go to a booster seat until she is 4 AND 40 pounds. She is NEVER going to get there!!!! The doctor asked her a bunch of developmental questions and Caitlin started showing out. When the doctor asked if she could count, Caitlin said, "Yes, 1, 2, 3, no wait, I want to do it in Spanish. Uno, dos, tres . . . ." and proceeded to count to 15 in Spanish. The doctor was floored. She said Caitlin was just perfect in every way. I have to agree!! But I am a little biased. :)

We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto!!
We got back from Kansas a few days ago. Wow, what a drive!! But we had a great visit with Papa Larry and Grandma Neese (Rusty's dad and his wife, Denise). Caitlin did great in the car and sleeping - always a concern for us when we travel. She loved sleeping the one night in the hotel in the big bed all by herself!!
We drove on Tuesday and stopped halfway in Kansas City and this is what we got the next morning. SNOW!!!

But finally we got there and we were so happy to not be driving anymore!

We took Caitlin to the Exploration Place in Wichita and she loved playing with all the exhibits.
