Spring Break

I took the week of Spring Break off and did fun things with the girls around town.  We went to Opry Mills mall, rode the carousel, went to Build a Bear, got candy.

This was at a toy store.  The had lots of toys out and set up so the kids could play - SMART!
Alaina loved this doll house that was taller than her.

Caitlin loves Build A Bear.  She spent her allowance and Easter money (thanks grandparents!) on a new horse.

Then they played in the play area.

Riding the carousel.  I tried to let them go themselves (I get so dizzy on that dang thing!) but they made me ride with Alaina.

Monday night, Caitlin really wanted a sleepover.  So we invited the 3 girls over.  They all did really well playing together.  They all even included Alaina.  All 5 girls slept in sleeping bags on the floor of Caitlin's room.
Eating microwave smores.

Alaina became the little mascot of the evening.  She enjoyed being the center of attention in this game of hit-me-in-the-face/head-with-a-big-exercise-ball.

And here are all the girls dancing -

One night we had dinner at ihop.  Here's Alaina telling me some elaborate story -

Tuesday, we went to Chuck E Cheese.  Alaina loved this car ride.

Ice cream afterwards -

Wednesday, we went to Discovery Center.  Both girls LOVED all the stuff that they could play on and interact with.  They had this huge playhouse that Alaina wanted to spend the whole day in.

They even had animals!

Next day, we hit up the jumpy place.  The girls ran around and got worn out.  Always a good thing!

I also took the girls to the Dollar Store to get a few toys.  The Flarp was fun . . . until Caitlin got it stuck in her hair.  Think giant bubble gum in hair!  It wasn't pretty!!

Caitlin's First Game

Unfortunately, I have no pictures and no video since I was keeping scoreboard tonight.  But it was a great game.  Caitlin played second base for two innings and left field for two innings.  At second, she was able to stop a hard-hit grounder and throw out the girl at first.  On the offense, she hit singles all three times she was up.  She hit one RBI and scored twice.  We won the game 13-4.

Next up tomorrow is Alaina's first game.  Now THAT should be interesting!!

Easter

The girls loved having an Easter egg hunt at Nana's!

Hilarious face while opening the confetti eggs!  She loved them!!

Enjoying the treats!

Here's their Easter baskets Sunday morning.

Someone is getting a visit from the Potty Fairy

Alaina is getting a visitor tonight. The Potty Fairy has decided that Alaina is big enough that she does not need diapers anymore. She even wrote her a letter telling her that

and brought her everything she needs to use the potty - Her own princess potty and a fabulous Dora doll that she can only play with when she's on the potty. Also some yummy chocolate she can eat after every potty try.

There's also some new pretty panties, pull ups for nap time, and, yes, doggie pee pads (for when she's on carpeted areas). Hey, she won't know they are for dogs!!

For every successful potty, she gets to put a sticker on her chart. When she fills up the chart, she gets the new Little People roller coaster toy.

The Potty Fairy must really love her (or is very desperate)! Cross your fingers!!!

Maybe this wasn't such a great idea . . .

Rusty has been gone less than 6 days and we've had vomiting, a blown tire, a broken iPhone screen and snow delaying his work for several days. Really? We both are counting down the days!!

Blog Catch up

We've been super busy lately.  Rusty left last week for a contract job and will be gone quite a while - probably a month.  YIKES!  The girls already miss him but we talk to him every day and FaceTime so we are doing okay.  We are looking forward to Spring Break next week, when I am taking a week off work, and we can do some fun things.

Until then, here's what we've been up to -

Some of Alaina's recent Mother's Day Out art -

Caitlin drawing in church -

Dress up with sissy -

Caitlin got her 3rd quarter report card -
4 A's, 2 B's.

Saturday, we made homemade pancakes.

I had my longest run so far - 10 miles!!

Alaina is finally letting me fix her hair.  She did pigtails on Sunday.

And a ponytail after her nap.

She loves looking in the mirror after it's fixed.  She always smiles real big!
