Our Rainy Weekend

It rained hard ALL day Saturday.  So we decided to roll with it.  We all dressed in rain boots and hoodies and went and played anyway.  The girls LOVED getting permission to jump in all the puddles they could find.

The we went to the discovery center again.  Caitlin's favorite place is to see the turtles.  Alaina's is to dig for fossils and the big slide.

Caitlin found some blocks and built this tower.  She got it over her head before it fell down.

Softball

Caitlin's game tonight was quick!! They mercy run ruled them and won 13-1. Caitlin played first base for the second time. She made an out there. Hitting, she got a single and her first home run!!! And if course I forgot my phone in the car!

Activity Days Play

The activity days girls put on a play last week.  It was really cute.  Caitlin was one of the narrators (she's hiding behind the script).

I thought the set was adorable!!

The girls wrote the play themselves (with some help from the leaders) and it was really cute!

T-ball game 2

Alaina did better for the second game.  Here's her good hit.  She swings so much, she spins and falls down!

She still didn't want to field.  She lasted most of the first inning.
I was able to get her to go out for the third inning if I stood beside her.
I even got her to chase a hit and throw it to first base.

This is her second hit.  I don't know why she was having such a hard time connecting.
She took forever and got really frustrated.

She took so long, I stopped after the first video and restarted for the one below.  At the beginning of this one, she hits the bat into the ground and says, "Oh man!" because she was frustrated.
She finally hit it!  Rusty was going to run the bases with her but she busted going to second and wouldn't keep going.  At least this game was better than last one.  As long as she improves, I'll count that as a win!

Beds

There are four different bed options for the girls to sleep in at night. Bunk beds downstairs in Caitlin's room, a single bed in the studio/Alaina's room and a queen bed in the playroom. But for some reason my girls have both been sleeping on the floor lately. Caitlin has made her own "bed" out of floor pillows and has slept there for over a week. Alaina has been sleeping on the floor with just a pillow under the playhouse like its a tent. She's been doing this for about a week as well. Crazy crazy girls!!

Slumber Party

While Caitlin had the girls over for the sleepover, my studio stuff was still set up so we had a quick photo session of them being silly.

Easter Dresses

All I wanted was one good picture . . .

But Alaina was NOT having it!

She looks like she is in so much pain!

At least Caitlin will cooperate!

Lighting Check

Alaina is usually my model when I need to check my studio lighting.
Sometimes you can get some cute pictures . . .
Even in pajamas . . .

And sometimes you strike future blackmail gold!!

Simon Says

Alaina does not normally run around the house in just a pull-up but she was eating spaghetti and it's just easier that way.  I love when she gets into the Backyardigans songs.  When she started singing Simon Says, I wondered if she would let me video tape it.  She was so in to it, she didn't notice for quite a while.  This video makes my laugh every time!!

T-Ball Game

Daddy made it home for Alaina's first T-ball game.  It was so hard having him gone 3 weeks.  We all missed him and were giddy once he got home.

We practiced a little with Alaina before we left for her game.  She only likes hitting - does not like wearing her glove so we knew it would be a struggle.

Going to the game with daddy . . .

Warming up

She went in the field for the first inning.  She had to hold daddy's hand and she was still hysterical.  Oh well, she still looked cute.  This is about all you can expect from a stubborn 3 year old.

Here's her first hit.
