Alaina loved the "tattoo" she got at gymnastics this week!



Seventh Grade

Caitlin is a free spirit for sure.  We planned what she would wear for the first day of school.  It was going to be a cute knee length skirt, with a denim shirt and I was going to curl her hair.  Then she comes down in this outfit and wants a ponytail.

She loves the monogram on her backpack just not posing so I can take a picture of it!!

First Grade

Registration:

For registration, Alaina actually let me fix her hair.

 

First full day of school:

She refused to let me help with her hair but she did pose for a few more pics. 

Look at this big girl!  She is SO excited to get Mrs Short for a teacher.  Caitlin absolutely LOVED her and she was the best experience we had at RSE!!

 



While moving rooms around and cleaning out a book case, I found this in some of Caitlin's old school stuff.  I guess her 3rd grade teacher never got her gift!  :(

Snaggle Tooth

So Saturday I was getting my hair done and I get a text from Caitlin that says "Alaina banged her head on my booty" and this picture:

I guess that's one way to lose a tooth.

She has the cutest little lisp now.  I just love it!

 

Since we were moving her room upstairs, the tooth got misplaced and Alaina was crushed.  She was devastated and thought the tooth fairy would never come, no matter what we said.  The only thing that would calm her down was if I would write a note for the tooth fairy.  And what do you know, it totally worked!  She came and brought Alaina a few dollars.

Moving Day

BEFORE:

Saturday was moving day for Alaina.  We decided to switch her upstairs and put the guest bedroom downstairs.  They can share the upstairs bathroom, hopefully leaving one bathroom downstairs that might stay clean.  :)

 

My goal for Saturday was to take all the guest bedroom stuff out and put it in the bonus room (our staging area) and get Alaina upstairs by the end of the day.  We are all exhausted but we made it.  We weren't sure we were going to get that bed upstairs.  After taking the bunk bed apart, we almost got stuck in the hallway but we barely made it through the doorway.  And I mean barely.  We had to push down on the footboard and kinda just cram it through!

Stage makeup

Caitlin has to do her own stage makeup for her musical so she's been experimenting.  We think she's going with this.

Kentucky Kingdom

Caitlin completed her reading challenge in record time.  They were going to Kentucky Kingdom this year and Rusty and I decided to tag along.  It was hot as hades on Saturday!!  We were thankful for the water park!!

Do you see this slide?  It's a straight drop down!  Caitlin, Rusty and Stephanie (and Carson, Steph's nephew) all did it.

 

Caitlin and Carson wanted to play carnival games and win some stuff.  Caitlin won a monkey for Alaina but she really wanted one of the Pokémon dolls too.  She couldn't win it and needed Rusty to win for her.  So he did, even if it meant he had to beat this poor little boy that we didn't know.  Rusty felt so bad because the boy really wanted to win too.  :(

Spa Day

Alaina got to be a part of a reading challenge from Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Ben.  After completing her reading, she got to have a spa day.  This girl loves to be pampered!  Thanks Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Ben!!

Finally!

So today at lunch I got a phone call from Rusty.  He said Alaina sent me a video and wanted to hear my reaction when I watched it.  This was it:

She finally was able to do her kickover!! Someone is going to get a medal next Tuesday at gymnastics class!!

Gymnastics

I just had to document this little monkey.

She has been working on her bridge kickover at home and wanted so badly to pass it off Tuesday night.  She just couldn't get it yet.

Life lately

For the last few weeks, Caitlin and Alaina have been getting along really well.  They play together all day, take cute selfies, want to sleep in the same room, buy each other gifts with their saved money.  It is so sweet!!

Birthday Surprise

Caitln has been begging for me to tell her what her birthday present is.  I wouldn't even give her a hint.  Here she is finding out -

She needed her glasses adjusted (they kept sliding down her nose or falling off) so Rusty took her to do that but also surprising her with getting contacts.

This week

Rusty helped out a friend (who was out of town) with their dog who needed to go to the vet.  The girls were in HEAVEN!!  They keep asking, begging, pleading for a dog and we really just don't want one.  Maybe we will just borrow theirs every once in a while!

 

The girls have been inseparable for the past week and it has been so nice.  They play together nonstop, are sweet to each other and sleep in the guest bedroom together because they don't want to go to their own separate rooms.  It is truly the sweetest thing when you see siblings being best friends!  I just love it!!
