Cousins

A few weeks ago Alaina and I went to take some pictures of Alli for her baptism invitation.  These girls are exactly 6 months apart and love each other so much.  I loved capturing this moment at the end of the session.

Backstroke

I taught Alaina the backstroke on Monday.  Here she is perfecting it when Rusty took her to the pool yesterday.

4th of July

On Tuesday, I took the girls to the $2 movie.  They sat like this for half the movie.  Oh I wish they got along like this all the time but I will take the sweet moments when they come!

 

Then we went to Ben & Steph's for some burgers and backyard games.  Alaina was a pro at jenga!

Turning 43

My birthday fell on a work holiday so I lucked out! I got surprise pecan waffles from Rusty for breakfast, went to the pool, took a long bath, got some free treats (thanks Starbucks birthday email - love your crème frappachinos), and went shopping with my girls.  They were in such good moods and we had a blast just doing whatever I wanted.

Turning 13

Woke up on Caitlin's birthday and saw this on the front door.  So sweet that someone surprised her.  She LOVED it!

 

For her party this year, we decided to just invite some friends to a movie.  Because her birthday is in the summer and near a holiday, she has always had low turnout for parties.  She doesn't mind it, just knows that going in.  So we invited 8 friends hoping that 3 or 4 could come.  7 were able to come and she had SO much fun!  We lucked out that Despicable Me 3 came out on her birthday so that's what we decided to see.  It was PG and was perfect for a big group!

 

 

Even though some friends were from church, some from choir, some from drama club, they all got along so well together.  Caitlin couldn't ask for a better group of friends.

 

After the movie, we went back to the house for ice cream cake and gifts.

She loves opening gifts, can you tell?

 

 

This teenager had a GREAT birthday! She told me after everyone left that it was the best birthday so far!!
