Grand Turk

 

Our first stop was Grand Turk.  We had been here once before and knew we would have a nice relaxing day.  Right off the dock you can swim in the ocean and within short walking distance is a Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville with a nice pool.

Caitlin is horrible not great at geography so we made her find where we were on this map.

Alaina's most important thing she wanted to do at each stop was collect shells.

Family cruise

Pre cruise pedicures!

 

We drove to Ft Lauderdale.  It was a trick getting all of our luggage and bodies down there in one car but we did it!

Once on the shuttle to go to the port, the girls started to get really excited.  They each had their phones out taking pictures. It was nice having other people to document all the fun!

All 4 of us slept in one room.  It was laid out really well, though, so it wasn't too bad.  You walk in and have the bathroom on your right and the closets on the left.  Then there's the desk and Caitlin's bed (with would normally be a couch if only 2 people were in the room).  Then Alaina's bunk came down from the ceiling over Caitlin.  Then our bed was after that and then the balcony.

 

The worst part was all of us trying to get ready for dinner each night.  I don't know how families with those Tiny Houses do it!

MTVA Concert

Caitlin had a concert Tuesday night and Alaina had to miss gymnastics.  To make it up to her, we went to Shake and Steak.  She thought it was a good trade.

Before bedtime, Alaina likes to wind down by playing in her room watching YouTube Kids videos.  I went up a little before bedtime to tuck her in and found her passed out.

Parade of Books

Alaina's school does a parade of books where each class picks one book to dress like the characters and make a float.  A friend sent me pictures of Alaina in the parade.  Cutest little bumble bee!

Little Reader

Alaina has been able to read for a while now but she doesn't love to just sit and read.  If there's an assignment from school to read, she usually groans.  I think it frustrates her with how long it takes sometimes to sound out words.

So imagine my surprise when I find her like this waiting for the bus Thursday morning.  I just HAD to take a picture!  I LOVE books and I LOVE when my girls share that!!

Wacky Tacky Day

Braces

Caitlin had an appointment Tuesday to get braces.  She still had one tooth that needed to come out.  We offered Caitlin $10 if she could pull it before the appointment (that way we didn't have to pay a dentist to pull it).  She was scared and put it off until the very last day.  Late Monday night she came downstairs and showed us she had finally done it!

Then on Tuesday, she got braces.  So cute!!
