Birthday Party Day

Caitlin wanted to go skating with friends for her birthday.
Alaina got to tag along and lost this trainer after the first 10 minutes.  She didn't want to look like a baby out there with the big girls.  The girls were sweet to her and helped her skate.
After the skate party, we had family over to celebrate.  I made an ice cream cake so she got to blow out the candles again.  She had a great day!

YouTube

Alaina loves YouTube Kids so she is no stranger to YouTube videos.  She has made her own in the past and they are funny without her even trying.  Here's another one she made Monday "showing" her gymnastics skills.  She needs to work on her camera work, though.

Saturday

Caitlin had a 4 hour rehearsal Saturday, so Alaina and I ran some errands and had some fun.  We went to Chuck E Cheese and played some.

Later that night, Rusty and I went out to eat.  When we came back, Caitlin was making Alaina pancakes.  This was her creation.  Yummy!

Best Sister Award Goes to Caitlin

Last week Caitlin got on board with the extra chores for money.  She did just enough to earn money to buy Alaina a surprise gift.  Her generosity amazes me!  She has used her money to buy Alaina things before.  She just loves making her happy!   She was watching the mail every day since we ordered it.  When it finally came in, she wanted me to video the surprise.

Highlights

Every 7-8 weeks, the girls and I have our hair done.  Sometimes it's only a trim for them, but usually I am either getting hair color or highlights.  They always want highlights too, so we've been talking with Ms Christie about them getting "highlights".  We had to delay it since Caitlin couldn't change her hair for Tom Sawyer.  She got it okayed by the Pocahontas director so Saturday was the day.

It was supposed to only be one little strip around both sides of their face.  But as Christie looked at their hair, both of them with bangs (that they both hate), she knew they needed more for it to look good.  So the girls got more than they were expecting and they LOVED it!!
