Spring Play

Caitlin had her Spring school play. She loved her part.  She got to be "kidnapped" multiple times, each time escaping.

There were a lot of mistakes throughout the play.  A full play might have been too hopeful for this age group.  But Caitlin did great, knew all her lines, and was funny!

Curtain call with Caitlin, always the ham!

Collage wall

Since we repainted the walls, I wanted to put up some pictures that were of our family.  Previously, I had photography that I had done, but of others.  When I got an email that an online canvas store had a huge sale, I went to work designing my collage!

I absolutely LOVE how it turned out.  I planned it with pictures that I wouldn't mind being up for years.  Then as the kids grow, I can either replace a few pictures or just add to it.

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day weekend was filled with fun stuff for sure.
But what made my heart full were the gifts from my girls.

Alaina made this for me at school.
My mom is 41 years old - she got this one right.
Her favorite flower is Rose - it's tulip but I do like roses.
My mom always says I love you - this one made me happy!
My mom makes the best food - this ones funny because I don't cook the most compared to others.
She is so good at Reading - I am pretty good at reading.  lol
My best memory of my mom is My mom had short hair - I had no idea what she meant by this until she pointed to a picture of me as a kid with a really bad short hair cut.  I guess she thought it was a funny memory.

Caitlin made me a PowerPoint presentation (I didn't even know she knew PowerPoint) that told me how much she loved me.  It was so sweet!

Caitlin and Alaina made me this while at Nana's.  The hands are Caitlin's and the foot is Alaina's.  So sweet!

I love my girls!!!

Staying with Nana

While Rusty and I were in Atlanta, the girls got to stay with mom.
They got to go eat and play at McDonald's and loved playing with the cousins.

They each had their own "room" which lessened the arguing, I'm sure.

Atlanta

Saturday, Rusty and I drove to Atlanta.  We went shopping at Ikea, well I went shopping.  Rusty sat in the couch section and took a nap.  HA!

Then we met up with friends for Shake Shack and a Braves game.  The weather was PERFECT for a game.  It was in the 80s but where our seats were, there was no direct sun.  It was great!

Freddie Freeman hit a home run early in the game, giving us hope.
I remember watching Pendleton, their 1st base coach, play 3rd base for them back in the day.

Too bad they didn't win!

Avett Brothers and Melting Pot

Friday night, Kara and I had tickets to Avett Brothers.  I was so excited to see them live.  I knew we were going to walk a lot so I had planned to wear Caitlin's cute white converse shoes but she forgot to bring them home from school (they are part of her play costume and she's supposed to leave it at school until Friday).  So I wore her other boots.  I think I will keep these.
Kara and I decided to go to the Melting Pot.  I had never been and wanted to see what all the fuss was about.  I didn't love it, especially for the price.  I did like my salad and the dessert but I wasn't a fan of the meat cooked in the broth.

Avett Brothers were fabulous!!  They played 21 songs straight and then came out for an encore of 3 more.  I love bands that are good live and they are definitely one of those!

Spring Fling

Rusty took Alaina took her school's Spring Fling.  She loved all the games and rides.

I think this must be a mini horse.  Doesn't she look huge on it?

Jungle Book

Alaina was invited to a birthday party for a friend from school.  It was at the movie theater and they all got to eat pizza, cupcakes, see the Jungle Book and eat popcorn with fruit punch.  She LOVED it!!

These were all the kids at the party!

And these are all the kids just from her Kindergarten class.

Yuck!!

Yeah, Rusty found this in our front yard last week.  He was walking to turn off the sprinkler and almost stepped on it. It is definitely dead now!
