Last night was Caitlin's talent show and recognition night. From the beginning, she was nervous about sharing her talent. Originally she would have picked singing but ever since she got the spacers in her mouth, enunciating is a little difficult. So instead, she picked art. Here she is sharing her talent with everyone.
Here's her display showing her accomplishments this year.
These are the words her peers use to describe her.
I'm not a big camper - hate the hassle of packing up everything, getting horrible sleep, packing everything up again, bringing it home and having to wash it all, etc. So my girls had never been. But Ben and Stephanie were going for one night and invited us to come. Caitlin has always wanted to go and was super excited. Alaina was worried that a bear might get her.
Luckily, Ben and Stephanie had an extra tent big enough for our family to fit in. And it was all set up when I got there from work. :) Even better!
The girls loved being outside. They loved the playground that was walking distance from our tents.
And the LOVED the tent and sleeping bags!
For dinner, we made tin foil dinners and got them cooked literally minutes before it started storming. So we all ran for cover and ate.
Afterwards Caitlin wanted some ghost stories.
Alaina was the first to go. I'm not sure what her story was about but it went on FOREVER!
And of course, who got scared by the ghost stories? Caitlin!!
Then we played Taboo by flashlight.
Camping is still not my favorite. I had a rotten night of sleep. I was too cold and every sound woke me up. But I loved getting to snuggle with this little one when she got cold.
And we still had lots of fun.
Next time, though, we are getting a cabin! Glamping!!
On day 3, we got up early and ate at the Pancake Pantry, yummy. Then we took the tram up to Ober Gatlinburg. Alaina LOVED the tram and thought we were flying.
Caitlin and Alaina both tried ice skating. I was able to make it around the rink once with Alaina. Considering I am horrible at ice skating and Alaina has never even roller skated, I will count that as a success.
Caitlin was great at it but she also roller blades so I think that gave her an advantage.
Alaina loved the carousel much more than ice skating. That's more her speed.
Then we took the chair lift up to ride the alpine slide. This is Caitlin and I on it.
Alaina went with Rusty. I wasn't sure how she would do on it so I wanted him to take her. She loved it!!
Alaina rode with me on the Alpine Slide and she loved it. She was a little dare devil yesterday. It gives me hope that she will enjoy Disneyworld when we go in June.
