Scripture Study

I've been trying to be better about my personal scripture study.  I saw online someone selling some templates to organize their notes and I thought they were cute so I designed my own.

I got all excited about them and then learned they weren't very practical for me.  Right now, the most quiet introspective time I have is at work.  So I normally try to find 15-30 minutes at lunch or in the mornings and it's just easier for me to take my notes electronically since I am at my desk.

But if I was doing my study at home, these would be great for my note taking.  If anyone wants a copy, let me know!

I've got one for notes by chapter.

Lessons Learned - could be used with a chapter by chapter study or by principle study.

If you want to study a principle at a time.  I really enjoy doing this rather than chapter by chapter.

And then one sheet for chapters where there is a lot of symbolism -

Weekend

I feel like all I post is the girls at the Discovery Center, but they would be happy going there every day.  So that's pretty much what we do every Saturday!

Growth Spurt

A while back, Rusty put up some tape on his closet to measure Caitlin's growth.  It's been fun to see how much taller she is getting.  He realized this week that it was a year and a day since the last time we measured her.  Can you see the difference in a year?  Over 2 inches!!  No wonder none of her dresses are long enough anymore!

Warm weather - finally!

We had nice weather on Saturday so the girls and I ventured out for a long walk.  It took an ABSURD amount of time to get everyone ready and out the door.  Alaina has outgrown ALL of her warm weather clothing AND shoes.  These shorts are Caitlin's old size 6 ones.  They fit Alaina perfectly!

And then she wore rainboots.  It was either this or winter boots or dress shoes.

Alaina loved playing with her shadow.

And she has to bring Ellie - her elephant.

Lately, she can't go anywhere without her.

We walked about 3.5 miles.  Caitlin rode her scooter, doing tricks.  She would ride ahead of us and then turn and ride back since we were slower.

On the way back, we went to the park.  Alaina could see we were close so she wanted to get out and walk with Caitlin.
Alaina wanted to hold Caitlin's hand.

Taking in the sunshine!

Caitlin pushing Alaina on the swings.

Do you ever have moments in your life where you stop and think, "Look at all I've been blessed with.  How'd I get so lucky?"  I have those all the time and this was one of them!  Love these girls!!

Easter Decorations - Bring on Spring!

I decorated for Easter on Saturday.  It made me feel so good to see all the pretty colors around the house.  Now if the weather would cooperate and stay nice and warm!
I love my pretty new wreath I found at Target.

This is one of my favorite decorations.  I think because it reminds me of my favorite candy -  Cadbury mini eggs.

New flower garland I found at Target.

And some fun Easter napkins from Target's $1 bin.

Metal Mouth

Caitlin now is now a metal mouth.
She had expanders put in yesterday.  She has a metal device on top and bottom that will help spread her teeth apart and reduce crowding.  Each week, we have to put a "key" in the device and turn it.  Yikes, that sounds like fun!  I am looking forward to her pretty smile, though!

Oh and don't call her metal mouth.  She really doesn't like it!  ;)

Valentines-Alaina

For Alaina's class, we have Valentine play-doh, rub on "tatoos" and candy.

And for Ms Julie, just some candy.

For her Valentine box, we went with easy and decorated a bag.

Valentines-Caitlin

For Caitlin's class, she chose bubble gum so I designed these "i chews you" labels.

For her Valentine box, she loved the Minecraft theme.

It took Rusty forever to cover the box but it looks pretty good!!

Worst Project Ever

Caitlin had a project on parts of the flower.  She brought home the one sheet of information on Monday.  The instructions say to buy a flower and dry it for several days.  (The project is due on Thursday!  Seriously, that does not leave enough time to buy it, dry it and complete the project!)  Then it says to use these labels and draw a line from the part of the flower to the label.  How are you supposed to draw on a flower?!?  Worst.  Project.  Ever.

New Year's Resolutions

I found this in Caitlin's backpack.  I thought her goals were awesome!  So glad she wants to be more "responseball" and that the worst thing that happened to her last year was chipping her nail!

Donuts with Dad

Alaina made this for Rusty for their Donuts with Dad day.

She NEVER smiles like this for pictures!!

Olympic activity

I'm excited about our young women's activity this week.  I love the Olympics!  So I'm having my class over to my house.  We will watch Olympics while playing some fun games.

One being this Olympic Bingo game I made.

And then each girl will get some yummy gold treats . . .
and a medal.

Frozen

Saturday morning, we were laying around being lazy and Alaina wanted to hear the songs from Frozen.  She makes the funniest faces when singing, so I decided to video her.  So glad I did!!
