Christmas Morning

The girls love opening one present each on Christmas Eve.  So this year, I gave them both a new pair of Christmas PJs and a new book.

Christmas morning . . .
Caitlin got up at 4am to sneak a peek at what Santa brought.  She was under strict instructions NOT to touch anything, so she couldn't wait for us to wake up so she could see what was in her stocking.

She couldn't wait to try out the paints!

Then we got to work making monkey bread.  Rusty, Caitlin and I were working together, with Alaina playing at the table, Christmas music playing in the background.  It was perfect and I was struck by how lucky I am.  I just love my little family!

This was probably the best monkey bread I have cooked so far!

Alaina loved her sand table that Santa brought her.  It lasted in the living room for about 2 minutes.  Now it is in the garage until it gets a little warmer.  That way she can at least play with it.

Alaina's Christmas Program

Since Rusty was still out of town last week, I got to take Alaina to school and see her Christmas program.  She was one of the mice.

She got to visit Santa.

She got to make crafts.

And then we had lunch.

Doesn't everyone eat two desserts at a time?

Christmas in Bethlehem

Caitlin is in a music ensemble at school.  A few weeks ago, they played their first concert at a church.

Then after we got to all go through the Christmas in Bethlehem they had set up.  It was really neat.

Santa

We went to Chik-Fil-A last week and Santa was there.  Alaina went straight up to him and sat in his lap.

Playing with some of her new toys

Sometimes . . .

we go to the library and don't even check out a book.
