Christmas Parade

Lara and I took the girls to the local parade.

Waiting for it to start.

Finally, it began!

We enjoyed watching all the floats do the limbo under the traffic light.

Thanksgiving

We went to the mall before Thanksgiving and look who was already there!!

Caitlin, as always, loves Santa.

Alaina did not want to get near Santa at first.  Then she heard him say he would give her some treats.  She jumped right on over and I finally got a non-screaming Santa picture!

Caitlin holding Uncle Jeff's sword.

Alaina LOVED Grandaddy Loy!!  She was teaching him how to use the ipad here.

Alaina and Nanny Glo "exercising".

Riding the horsey.

Caitlin and Nanny Glo.  Caitlin LOVED playing with Nanny Glo.  They played schooled for hours, literally!!

Caitlin enjoyed Lara and Jeff's hot tub.  She swore she just wanted to put her feet in.

10 minutes later, she "slipped" and was totally soaked.

Trying to get a group picture.

This is as good as it got.

Ah, thanksgiving dinner.

It was so yummy!

How does she come up with these things?

I don't even know when Caitlin created this but I found it over the weekend.  How does she think of these things?  With paper and tape, she can make ANYTHING!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

On Saturday, Caitlin and I put up the Christmas decorations.  It has become tradition that Caitlin helps me with the ornaments on the tree.  She loves finding her ornaments and picking a special place for them on the tree.

Caitlin picking a spot for her rooster ornament - her favorite.

Each year, I buy a few new ornaments to add to the tree that fit my theme of red, gold and white.
Here's two new ones.

My nativity I painted.

Cake FAIL

After church yesterday, Rusty wanted a cake.  The girls were nicely playing upstairs, so we made a cake together.  Rusty wanted to try and make it with soda like we had both heard about, so we experimented.  We tried to make the double layer, like we've done before.  Neither slice came out of the greased pan evenly, so this is what we were left with.  FAIL!!!  I didn't even try and make it pretty with icing!

I Am Thankful

For this little girl!

She is strong willed and independent, but loving.

I am lucky to be her mommy!

And I thank God for her every day!
