Spirit Week

Alaina got to dress up several days this week. One was superhero day. We don't have anything superhero like at the house so I quickly raided my craft supplies and whipped up a cape.  She LOVED it!!

 

This was crazy sock day. You can't see the dark sock on her right foot but she loved the Santa sock on the left foot.

MTVA Middle School Mass Festival

I was able to chaperone Caitlin's choir festival on Monday. It was so nice sitting and listening to them practice and learn. I loved their director. He taught more life lessons than he did music.

Oops

Well this is what happens when you combine tickling with a clumsy child. Sunday morning Alaina and I were playing on the bed.  I was tickling her and she stood up on the bed and was backing up away from me.  Before I could yell that she was getting to close to the edge, she had fallen and hit the hard edge of Rusty's bedside table.  I was really afraid to look at her leg and thought it was going to require a trip to the ER.  Luckily it was not that serious and just hurt really bad.

 

Room Update

Alaina has always been pretty neat but in the past several months she has become almost OCD with her room.  We got a new vacuum and she would vacuum her floor every day.  Each day she would clean and move things around until everything pleased her.  Lately, she has really come to regret the stains and marks on the floor and furniture that she made when she was younger. She kept asking for new everything - furniture, bins, carpet, bedding, décor, etc.  Her consistency with taking care of her room was rewarded over the weekend.  I took her out for new bedding, décor and bins.  The carpet and furniture will just have to remain.  Maybe I will get her a cute rug!

 

But she just loves how it turned out and loves making her bed every morning! Now if some of that would just rub off on Caitlin!!

Field Trip

I took off work and helped chaperone Alaina's field trip to the Wilderness Station.  It was completely outside and started out FREEZING cold! I had sent Alaina off to the bus in shorts and a t-shirt since we would be outside and then I went to leave and had to turn around.  I changed clothes and grabbed some for Alaina.  She was SO happy to see I brought warmer options.

Fall Break

We had a GREAT week in Gulf Shores for Fall Break. We stayed in a great 3 bedroom condo.  Each bedroom had their own bathroom and TV. What more could you want?  Marisa and Brandon joined us a fews days in and we even got to meet up with Ben and Stephanie while they were in Orange Beach too.

 

We just relaxed, played games, ate yummy food and shopped at the outlet mall (all my requirements for a good beach vacation)!
